Last Night's Fun, ably supported by the Sailor's Return 'super group', Camilla and the Can Openers (aka Paul, Nigel and Pam Dentith), took full advantage of the superb acoustics in Hope Church and played a storm. What a great way to start the 2008 festival. Saturday night with Dick Gaughan was no less impressive. The raw emotion and passion he puts into his performances is mesmerising and humbling. Real music from the gut! He's a pretty nifty guitarist too.....
