I'm getting ready to dash off to the Wimborne Folk Festival where I hope to spend some time Saturday and Sunday 14th and 15th June 2008, so I thought I would just give a quick feature to some street entertainers I spotted and liked at the Wessex Folk Festival last weekend (6 - 8 June 2008).
With a youthful energy that left the audience gasping with delight, the young Irish step dancer on the right complemented the Hope Square band entertainment perfectly and received rapturous applause.
I take my hat off to Malcolm of Cute Cartoons who travels around from festival to festival living in a tent. My goodness - and I thought my old camper-van was uncomfortable :-)
This interesting character with a horse-like appearance I believe has some connection with Yateley Morris Men. A fine looking thoroughbred we may see one day in the Grand National!
Well, I've got to charge up my leisure battery and (grimace) clean out the on-board facilities so had better leave it there for today. More next week.
Were you at the Wessex Folk Festival? Have you good memories you would like to share? I'd love to hear your comments below :-)
Bye for now
Rob
